On July 23, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) hosted a networking tea reception in Taipei for participants of the "Taiwan-Europe Short-Term Semiconductor Training Program." The event brought together European trainees and key representatives from Taiwan’s government, industry, and academia. Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung personally presided over the event and presented certificates of completion to all trainees, highlighting the government’s strong commitment to international talent exchange and technological cooperation.

Distinguished guests at the event included European representatives stationed in Taiwan, President of the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs), representatives from the Semiconductor Research Center, as well as faculty members from the program’s academic partners — National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). Their presence underscored the significance of the program in strengthening Taiwan-Europe collaboration in science and technology.

The four-week Taiwan-Europe Short-Term Semiconductor Training Program, initiated by MOFA, integrates the expertise and resources of Taiwan’s top universities and research institutions. It offers European young professionals specialized courses in semiconductor technology, hands-on training, and industry visits. Through this cross-border initiative, participants gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s technological advancements, laying a solid foundation for future Taiwan-Europe partnerships in the high-tech sector.
