Recently, a delegation from Guatemala visited National Taiwan University (NTU) with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the current state of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry and exploring ways to strengthen international cooperation. The main purpose of the visit was to learn from NTU’s experience and best practices in the semiconductor field and to evaluate how these practices could be applied to Guatemala’s semiconductor industry.
The delegation expressed strong interest in how NTU helps cultivate professional talent for the semiconductor industry and gained an in-depth understanding of the Global Undergraduate Program in Semiconductors (GUPS) and its collaborations with other countries. They hope to adapt Taiwan’s model to improve talent development mechanisms in Guatemala.
Additionally, the delegation was highly interested in Taiwan’s achievements in building a semiconductor ecosystem. This exchange allowed them to gain valuable insights and will help assess whether these practices can be applied in Guatemala to stimulate the development of the local semiconductor industry.
We look forward to the potential academic and practical collaboration that this exchange can bring, contributing to the global development of the semiconductor industry.
